Chief Product Officer, B2B Digital Trading Platform
Marlin Hawk was retained by a global bank to recruit a Chief Product Officer for its B2B digital trading platform. The role was a strategic appointment as part of the senior leadership team, to oversee the current and future product roadmap and service offerings. The role was to initially focus on the apparel market with diversification in the future.
We undertook a global search to identify world class CPO’s across technology, internet, B2B and B2C marketplaces, logistics, supply chain, fintech, consulting as well as core consumer industries. The successful candidate required not only leadership in product innovation and go-to-market strategy, but also technical prowess in expanding platform capabilities, commercial acumen and a solid understanding of the dynamics around digital supply chains. Understanding the client’s need for transparency around sustainability and cost pressures was critical.
Marlin Hawk conducted an extensive search in the U.S., Europe and Asia, assessing 395 candidates. Key challenges were relocation, timing and budget as well as the obstacles connected with the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The successful candidate has worked as a senior executive with deep domain expertise over two decades. His experience spanned U.S., U.K. and Asia, having worked in both physical and digital supply chains in retail, logistics and trade management.
Over the last 3 years, the candidate has successfully led the digital transformation of Hong Kong’s apparel conglomerate.
