We take a look behind the corporate bios of our team to uncover what drives them in their careers and why they continue to choose Marlin Hawk. Next in our People Journey Series is Michael Ioannou, Consultant in our London office.

01. Tell us about your career to date with Marlin Hawk.

I joined Marlin Hawk in 2018 as a Research Associate within the financial services practice in EMEA. On joining, I gained exposure to a broad range of functions and business lines which were new to me. This breadth enabled me to work with a number of different stakeholders both internally and externally; and, ultimately helped to develop a more rounded style. My experience has always been across the risk, compliance and audit markets, and since joining Marlin Hawk I have been able to help grow the practice within the business.

02. What attracted you to Marlin Hawk? And how have we delivered on expectations?

There were initially two key motivators for me wanted to join Marlin Hawk. Firstly, the ability to gain exposure to other functional areas and further my knowledge of how our clients operate day to day, more holistically. Secondly was the culture, where I saw similarities both personally and professionally with my now-colleagues. I also saw a business that placed great value on developing its employees, and a level of care that was evident from early conversations with the business.

03. What has been your greatest achievement so far?

My greatest achievement to date has been building our global risk and compliance practice with a team of high performing, supportive colleagues.

04. What or who has helped you along the way?

The trust that Marlin Hawk has placed in me personally, and continues to do in our global team. The platform is one that encourages autonomous working and a place where everyone can develop uniquely with a strong support network.

05. How would you describe the culture at Marlin Hawk?

Marlin Hawk has a big mix of personalities, working styles and backgrounds. Everyone brings something different to the table, and the diverse mix of people and skillsets contribute to a one-of-a-kind working environment that is collaborative, caring and a fun place to be.
