As Head of Telecoms, you will be responsible for:
- Take strategic perspective, engaging fully with IT and business stakeholders to understand their objectives and gain their confidence so as to be able to contribute to a fit for purpose IT service that enables the business.
- To build and develop a Distributed & Telecoms team which is fully able, passionate and committed to delivering a best practise 24x7 service.
- Be capable of delivering significant change, balancing legacy systems with emerging technologies, ensuring that business as usual service delivery is able, without fail, to support the business.
- To be able to a culture of commercial rigour to the team. Ensure the rationale for all Telecoms projects is underpinned by a strong business case which is transparent to the programme sponsor.
Necessary skills and experience:
- Evidence of running an Infrastructure/Telecoms function in a large corporate environment.
- Outstanding track record of providing a truly mission-critical service delivery capability in a large blue chip environment, providing a real-time service.
- Broad technical knowledge encompassing Windows technologies, Unix, Voice and Data Networks.
- Track record of running a under-performing team to create a highly professional and high performing unit.
- Ability to demonstrate commercial influence and negotiation skills at senior stakeholder and board levels.
