Our Process

We've ditched a lot of the traditional search and selection methods and designed new techniques and tools from end to end. They help us define and challenge the brief, validate the feasibility of the role and bring new potential candidate pools onto the search radar.

For example, calibrating the role profile early in the process through the introduction of a "benchmark candidate" is a unique concept that can either fine-tune the search or completely change the strategy, in one recent case saving the client £400K pa in base salary costs after they realised two roles could be combined into one.

The use of technology also demonstrates we've thought through our clients and candidates frustrations; using an MP3 device during the stakeholder briefing stage helps capture the nuances, subtleties and cultural aspects that are so often missed at the beginning through pure note taking alone. By capturing this information, through technology, the requirements can be directly translated to the multilingual researchers and delivery team to avoid any errors which can make the difference between failure and success.

Another prime example of process innovation is our unique "Balance Sheet" workbook.  The Balance Sheet is the product of over 50 years of collective experience in Search and Selection.  It was designed in conjunction with our clients and candidates by the directors of Marlin Hawk to avoid a pure biographical assessment and instead adopt a self assessment and competency based profiling.
